Barangay Proper Bansud is one of the Barangay in the  Municipality Of Bansud. Situated in the eastern portion of the town.  It is bounded by Barangay Pag-asa in the North, Tablas Strait in the East,  in the South Barangay Proper Tiguisan in the west Barangay Poblacion. It was classified as Rural with Seven sitios, namely Alegria, Alindog, Bibihan, Centro, Tambong/Lumbayan, Wawa and Magtanggol and total land area of 591.0792 hectares, 563.6225 of it are Agricultural land, 27.4567 are residencial land. The Barangay Proper Bansud  is a more or less two hours drive away from the Provincial  capitol  by land transportation.

Politically, the municipality belongs to the 2^nd  District of Oriental Mindoro  along with the Municipalities of Bansud, Oriental, Mindoro. It is one of the medium sized Barangays in the municipality in terms of land area.

The interior of the barangay is coastal and plain.   Its major river systems – Bansud river & Alegria river.

Rivers and streams easement of about three, twenty and forty meters from both sides throughout the entire length of any river  are considered to be environmentally constrained.  Areas within this range are subject to easement for public use in the interest of  farming.

Constituents of Proper Bansud is a combination of Mariduquenos, Batanguenos, Romblomanons, Visaya and Ilocanos, for most migrants of the Barangay decided to settle due to the nice venture in agriculture and fishery they experienced.  They are now of big areas of land and are successful farmers.
